Call of Duty to Nintendo Switch 2? 🎮 Code references found in recent update! The 10-year deal is happening. 🕵️♂️
For years, the idea of playing a modern Call of Duty
game on a Nintendo console seemed like a pipe dream. But with the Nintendo
Switch 2 looming on the horizon, that pipe dream is starting to look like a
certainty.
Fresh findings from dataminers suggest that Activision is
actively preparing to bring the franchise to Nintendo’s next-gen hardware. If
these leaks hold up, we could see an official announcement very soon.
Hidden in the Code
The evidence comes from a deep dive into the recent files of
Call of Duty, specifically uncovered by X user Reality (and
reported by VGC). It’s not just a rumor; it’s code that doesn't lie.
Buried within the game's backend, dataminers found clear
references to "Nintendo" listed alongside the usual platform families
like Sony, Steam, and Microsoft. Even more telling is the code snippet under
account types. Right alongside PSN, Xbox Live, and Battle.net, there is an
entry labeled "na" — standing for Nintendo Account.
Yeah it's looking like Nintendo x COD is imminent, whenever the next round of Nintendo announcements are, expect that pic.twitter.com/ojiEUQnHDM
This suggests that the infrastructure to log in, link
profiles, and play Call of Duty using a Nintendo Account is already
being built into the game's ecosystem. You don't add that level of backend
support unless a launch is imminent.
Which Game Are We Talking About?
While the code doesn't explicitly name the title, all signs
point to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (or the upcoming title in the series
for that cycle). Given that the Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to be
significantly more powerful than its predecessor, it should theoretically be
capable of handling a current-gen CoD port—something the original Switch could
never realistically do.
Keeping a 10-Year Promise
This isn't coming out of left field. Back in 2022, when
Microsoft was fighting to get its acquisition of Activision Blizzard approved
by regulators, it signed a legally binding 10-year commitment to bring Call
of Duty to Nintendo platforms.
Activision even doubled down on this in June 2025,
confirming, "We're committed to getting the franchise on Switch. Both
teams are working on it. Will share details when ready."
The datamined code is essentially the proof that they have
been keeping their word.
When Will We See the Reveal?
So, when do we get the trailer? The "imminent"
nature of the code suggests an announcement is close.
There are two major events on the horizon that would be
perfect venues:
- Nintendo
Direct (Rumored February): This is the most likely candidate.
Announcing CoD for Switch 2 during a Direct would be a massive
"headline" moment.
- Xbox
Developer Direct (January 22): Since Xbox owns Activision now, they
might want to showcase the partnership here, although a Nintendo-focused
reveal seems more organic for the Nintendo audience.
The Final Verdict
No Call of Duty game has ever graced the Switch platform, but the Switch 2 looks set to break that curse. With backend support seemingly live and a corporate promise to fulfill, the days of Nintendo gamers missing out on the biggest shooter in the world might finally be numbered.
