Honor Magic 8 Pro Air unboxing leaked! 📦🔥 Dimensity 9500, 5500mAh battery, and it's insanely thin (6.1mm!). 📱 Details 👇
We are just days away from the official launch of Honor’s
next flagship, but the secret might be out already. A purported unboxing video
of the upcoming Honor Magic 8 Pro Air has surfaced online, giving us a
clear look at what to expect.
Shared by tipster Ice Universe on X, the video confirms that
Honor is serious about the "thin and light" formula, all while
packing some serious flagship firepower.

Design: As Thin as Two Coins
The first thing that stands out in the video is the physical
profile. The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air is being showcased in a stunning Fairy
Purple colorway, and it is incredibly slim. The visual comparison in the
video suggests the device is about as thick as two coins stacked together.
For those keeping track, Honor has previously teased that
the phone will measure just 6.1mm in thickness and weigh around 155g.
Despite that svelte frame, the video reveals a new Camera Control button
on the side (similar to what we’ve seen on other recent flagships), which
appears to handle zoom functions and launching the camera app.
Performance: MediaTek Dimensity 9500
While thin phones often sacrifice performance for cooling,
the settings menu shown in the unboxing tells a different story. The video
confirms the Magic 8 Pro Air will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500
chipset.
This is paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard
storage on the unit shown. If true, this positions the "Air"
model as a genuine flagship contender, not just a mid-range slim phone.
Display and Battery Tech
The device sports a display with a resolution of 1,216 x
2,640 pixels and features Honor’s Oasis Eye Protection technology.
There is also a hole-punch cutout visible for the selfie camera.
Perhaps the most impressive engineering feat is the battery.
The video references a 5,500mAh "Qinghai Lake Battery".
Fitting a battery of that size into a 6.1mm body is no small feat, and the
device reportedly includes Honor's E2 energy efficiency chip to manage power.
It is also expected to run MagicOS 10, based on Android 16.
What’s in the Box?
The unboxing video didn't just show the phone. It also gave
us a peek at the accessories. Buyers can expect an 80W fast charging adapter,
a USB Type-C cable, and a transparent plastic phone case included in the
retail package.
Launch Date
Mark your calendars. The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air is set to
launch in China on January 19 at 7:30pm local time (5pm IST). It will
share the stage with the high-end Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design.
The phone will be available in four colors: Fairy Purple, Light Orange, Feather White, and Shadow Black. If this leak is accurate, Honor might have just perfected the ultra-thin flagship formula.
