Vivo is gearing up for the official debut of its Vivo S50
series in China this December, and ahead of the launch, the company has
lifted the curtain on the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. The compact model is
shaping up to be a powerhouse, featuring Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen
5 chipset and a photography setup built around a Sony periscope sensor.

A Compact Flagship With a Premium Display
Vivo’s Product Manager, Han Boxiao, shared fresh
details on Weibo, confirming that the S50 Pro Mini will arrive as a compact yet
top-tier device. It features a 6.31-inch flat display, giving it a
flagship experience in a smaller form factor.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 at the Core
The S50 Pro Mini marks the first time Vivo has equipped an
S-series smartphone with Qualcomm’s newest flagship chip. Paired with LPDDR5X
Ultra RAM delivering speeds up to 9,600Mbps and UFS 4.1 storage,
the phone is designed to deliver high-end performance.
According to Vivo, the device has already crossed 3 million+ points on
AnTuTu, signaling serious processing power.
Dual Rear Cameras With a Sony Periscope Lens
Vivo has confirmed a dual-camera array on the Pro
Mini. The setup includes:

- A Sony
IMX882 periscope telephoto camera
On the front, a 50MP selfie camera handles portraits
and video calls. Vivo claims the device will offer the same full focal-length
zoom flash experience found in its flagship lineup.

The S50 Pro Mini includes an X-axis linear motor for
precise haptic feedback and a 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint 2.0 sensor for
fast, secure unlocking.
It also boasts IP68 + IP69 ratings, making it resistant to dust and
high-pressure water exposure.
Large “Blue Sea” Battery With Fast Charging

The S50 Pro Mini will house a 6,500mAh Blue Sea battery, supporting:
