“Samsung Teases Global Debut of Galaxy Z TriFold at ‘The First Look’ Ahead of CES 2026”
Samsung has confirmed plans to host its first major showcase
of 2026 in Las Vegas, unveiling what it calls “The First Look”—an early
preview of its vision for the coming year. Scheduled to happen two days before CES
2026, the showcase will highlight the company’s roadmap for its Device
eXperience (DX) division. Reports suggest that the headliner could be the global
reveal of the Galaxy Z TriFold, Samsung’s first twice-folding smartphone,
which made its initial appearance only in select markets. The event may also
bring the long-awaited US pricing details for the device.
Samsung Confirms January 4, 2026 Event Date
In an official announcement, Samsung revealed that “The
First Look” will take place on January 4, 2026, at 7 p.m. local time
(January 5, 8:30 p.m. IST) at the Latour Ballroom, Wynn Las Vegas. The
presentation will outline the company’s strategic focus for 2026 and showcase
new AI-powered experiences expected to roll out across Samsung’s
ecosystem next year.
The event will be streamed globally through Samsung’s
Newsroom, Samsung Electronics’ YouTube channel, and Samsung TV Plus—its free
ad-supported streaming platform. This will be Samsung’s opening event of the
year, preceding a separate launch later in January where the company is
expected to introduce the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Galaxy Z TriFold Expected to Take Global Stage
Although Samsung has kept most details confidential, Android
Authority reports that the centerpiece of the show will likely be the global
showcase of the Galaxy Z TriFold. The device, which folds twice instead of
once, debuted in South Korea on December 2. Samsung previously confirmed that
the handset would expand to international markets—including China, Taiwan,
Singapore, the UAE, and the United States—but did not reveal pricing for those
regions.
The Las Vegas event is now expected to answer that question.
Early estimates place the device at €2,100 in Europe and around $2,400
in the US, though these figures are based on currency conversions and may
shift due to local taxes, incentives, carrier agreements, and Samsung’s final
launch strategy.
In South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold launched at KRW
3,594,000 for the 16GB RAM / 512GB storage variant, roughly equal to ₹2.2
lakh in India.
