Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leak Reveals Triple Camera Setup With Massive 200MP Telephoto Sensor
New Leak Offers First Look at Xiaomi’s Upcoming Ultra-Flagship
Xiaomi appears to be gearing up for its next premium
smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, expected to sit at the top of the
Xiaomi 17 lineup. While the company has not shared any official details yet, a
fresh leak has surfaced revealing what could be the final camera configuration
of the upcoming Ultra model.
If accurate, this marks a notable shift in Xiaomi’s design philosophy,
especially with reports pointing toward a triple rear camera setup
rather than the quad arrangement seen in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Leaked Camera Details Hint at Major Changes
Triple-Lens Layout Confirmed Through Prototype Images
A report from XiaomiTime claims that leaked
photographs of the device’s camera housing show no space for a fourth lens.
This strongly suggests that the company might move toward a three-camera
system, focusing on sensor performance and image quality instead of sheer
camera count.
According to the leak, Xiaomi tested the new imaging
hardware internally under the codename “Nezha.” The potential camera
setup includes:
- 50MP
main camera using the OVX10500U sensor
- 200MP
telephoto camera powered by Samsung’s S5KHPE sensor
- 50MP
ultra-wide lens, likely using either an OV50M or S5KJN5
sensor
On the front, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to carry a 50MP
OV50M selfie camera for detailed photos and high-quality video calls.
Enhanced Zoom, Periscope Optics & Imaging Upgrades
Earlier rumours had already suggested that Xiaomi might
equip its new flagship with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. The sensor
is said to support 4×4 RMSC technology, enabling “multi-focal-length
lossless zoom” and improved telephoto macro shots.
leaked specifications also tease a wider focus range, boosted magnification
capabilities, and a higher dynamic range than previous Ultra models.
Interestingly, some earlier leaks pointed toward a
quad-camera setup with three 50MP sensors and a 200MP telephoto shooter. The
newest information, however, contradicts that claim and reinforces the idea of
a more refined triple-lens approach.
Expected Launch Timeline
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumoured to make its debut sometime
in 2026, arriving as a direct successor to the Xiaomi 16 Ultra. Once
launched, it is expected to join the existing Xiaomi 17 family, which includes:
- Xiaomi
17
- Xiaomi
17 Pro
- Xiaomi
17 Pro Max
More details will likely emerge as the smartphone progresses
through development and certification phases.
