OpenAI May Bring Preset Image Styles to ChatGPT: Leaks Reveal New ImageGen V2 Upgrade

ChatGPT may soon receive a major upgrade to its built-in
image generator, with early testers spotting a new option that lets users pick
from preset visual styles. The feature appears inspired by the Sora app’s
styling system and aims to simplify the image-creation process by removing the
need to describe detailed aesthetics in prompts. Several users across the web
and mobile versions of ChatGPT have noticed hints of this upcoming update,
suggesting a wider rollout could be on the horizon.
Preset Styles Spotted in ChatGPT Interface
Tibor Blaho, Lead Engineer at AIPRM, recently shared a
screenshot on X (formerly Twitter) showing a new banner titled “ImageGenV2Banner.”
It highlighted quicker image creation, better editing accuracy, and the ability
to “feature your friends” in generated photos.
Others have also reported similar banners appearing on
enterprise accounts. Meanwhile, a user in South Korea shared an image from the
beta version of the ChatGPT mobile app showing a pop-up introducing “trending
styles” that can be selected before generating art.
Borrowing Features From the Sora App
The Sora app—known for turning text and photos into
video—was the first OpenAI product to introduce selectable “Styles.” Now, it
seems this capability is making its way into ChatGPT’s image generator.
Screenshots show visual style cards that users can tap on, possibly curated
from the most commonly requested styles globally.

Once a style is chosen, ChatGPT is expected to automatically
adapt the user’s prompt to match the selected look, offering more consistent
results without detailed instructions.

not officially commented on or announced this feature. Until a formal rollout
happens, its full functionality and release timeline remain unverified.
