Apple to Launch iPhone 17e, Budget MacBook & 12th-Gen iPad Next Year — Here’s What to Expect
Apple appears to be gearing up for a fresh wave of
entry-level devices, with reports hinting at new additions to the iPhone, iPad,
and MacBook families. According to early insights, the company’s next
affordable MacBook could debut early next year powered by an A-series chip.
Apple is also said to be preparing the iPhone 17e as the follow-up to the
iPhone 16e, its most budget-friendly model. Alongside these devices, a
12th-generation iPad featuring Apple’s latest silicon is also reportedly on the
way.
Entry-Level Apple Lineup Expected in Early 2026
A research report by Jeff Pu from Haitong International Tech
Research—shared via MacRumors—claims that Apple is planning a Spring 2026
rollout for several new budget-oriented devices. The lineup could include:
- iPhone
17e
- Affordable
13-inch MacBook
- 12th-Gen
iPad
This suggests Apple is broadening its lower-cost offerings
across multiple product categories.
First Affordable MacBook May Feature A18 Pro Chip
Pu’s note indicates that Apple’s new MacBook will adopt the A18
Pro chip, originally built for the iPhone 16 Pro series. The laptop could
offer a 13-inch display and come in four colour choices—silver, blue, pink,
and yellow. Expected pricing is placed between $699 and $899, making
it Apple’s most accessible notebook in years.
To keep costs down, Apple might rely on older display tech,
simplified design elements, 8GB RAM, and potentially just one USB-C
port.
iPhone 17e: Modest Upgrades but New A19 Chip
The upcoming iPhone 17e is reportedly set to ship with the A19
chip and may include:
- A new 18MP
front camera
- Apple’s
C1 modem
Despite these upgrades, the device isn’t expected to
introduce major hardware changes, continuing the philosophy established with
the iPhone 16e after the discontinuation of the SE series.
12th-Generation iPad to Bring Apple Intelligence
Apple’s next entry-level iPad will likely use the A18
chip, bringing Apple Intelligence features to the base iPad for the
first time. The design is expected to remain virtually unchanged from the
current model, keeping the focus on internal upgrades rather than aesthetics.
What Comes After? Apple’s Future Release Roadmap
Jeff Pu’s predictions match earlier rumours regarding
Apple’s staggered release strategy.
According to the timeline:
- iPhone
18 Pro lineup and the first foldable iPhone could debut in the second
half of 2026.
- The iPhone
18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2 might arrive in early
2027.
Apple appears to be spacing out launches across multiple
product families for a more predictable upgrade cadence.
