Rumours surrounding Apple’s next iPad Mini have been
circulating for months, and a new leak from Chinese platform Weibo has added
more clarity to the launch timeline. According to the latest hints, Apple’s
compact tablet is unlikely to debut before late next year — and could play a
key role in Apple’s wider shift toward OLED displays across its device lineup.
Potential Launch Timeline Revealed
Weibo tipster Instant Digital claims that the eighth-generation
iPad Mini is scheduled for release in Q3 2026. This timeframe
supports earlier predictions from other insiders, including Bloomberg’s Mark
Gurman, who also suggested a 2026 window for the device.
Earlier reports stated that Apple began evaluating Samsung-made
OLED panels earlier this year, with mass production reportedly expected to
start in the second half of 2025.
Apple has yet to confirm any details, maintaining its usual
silence about unannounced products.
OLED Display Expected to Lead Apple’s Next Wave of Upgrades
One of the biggest anticipated changes is the shift from LCD
to OLED technology, marking a significant enhancement for the iPad Mini.
