Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra May Get 60W Charging — One UI 8.5 Leak Reveals New “Super Fast Charging 3.0”

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series—expected to include the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra—is widely rumoured to launch in January next year. While Samsung has yet to confirm the date, fresh leaks continue to shed light on the Ultra model. A new report now suggests Samsung could be preparing to introduce a major charging upgrade that fans have been waiting for.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Get “Super Fast Charging 3.0”

Rumours about the Galaxy S26 Ultra supporting 60W wired charging have circulated for months. Now, an APK teardown of a One UI 8.5 test build by Android Authority seems to back those claims.

Inside the firmware, references to a new “Super fast charging 3.0” mode were discovered. This new tier is reportedly labelled as Level 4, sitting above the current Level 3 (45W) used by the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Although the code doesn’t explicitly list “60W,” the jump to a higher charging tier strongly aligns with earlier reports. Samsung’s current lineup tops out at:

  • 25W (Super Fast Charging) — Galaxy S25, S25 Edge
  • 45W (Super Fast Charging 2.0) — Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra

Moving to 60W would be one of the biggest charging upgrades Samsung has made in years, especially since recent Ultra models—including the S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra—never surpassed 45W.

Rumoured Specs of the Galaxy S26 Ultra

Alongside the charging boost, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is speculated to feature impressive hardware upgrades.

Battery & Performance

  • 5,000mAh battery
  • Possible chip options:
    • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
    • Exynos 2600 (varies by region)
  • Storage variants: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, paired with LPDDR5X RAM

Camera Setup

The smartphone is expected to retain a quad-camera configuration featuring:

  • 200MP main camera
  • 12MP telephoto (3x optical zoom)
  • 50MP telephoto (5x optical zoom)
  • 50MP ultrawide lens

Display

  • 6.9-inch M14 QHD+ CoE Dynamic AMOLED panel
  • Peak brightness up to 2,600 nits

If the leaks are accurate, the S26 Ultra could bring one of Samsung’s biggest generational upgrades in charging tech, alongside refinements in camera and display performance.
