YouTube Recap 2025 Is Live! See Your Personalized Viewing Story

YouTube has officially introduced its first-ever year-end Recap for the main platform, giving users a detailed look at how they spent their year watching videos. Previously, Recap was exclusive to YouTube Music, but the new update finally brings a similar reflective experience to regular YouTube viewers. The feature arrives as year-end summaries become a digital trend, helping users understand their evolving interests and content habits more clearly than ever.

A Closer Look at Your Year on YouTube

The new YouTube Recap 2025 analyzes your watch history and creates up to 12 personalized cards showcasing:

  • Your most-watched channels
  • Topics you engaged with the most
  • How your viewing preferences changed
  • A custom personality category

These personality labels include Adventurer, Sunshiner, Skill Builder, Wonder Seeker, Connector, Dreamer, and Philosopher, each based on your overall content pattern.

Some users will also see extra music-related stats—top songs, top artists, and more. Anyone who has spent 10+ hours on YouTube Music will be guided to an expanded Music Recap inside the YouTube Music app.

Where to Find Your YouTube Recap 2025

You can view your Recap via:

  • YouTube homepage
  • ‘You’ tab on mobile or desktop
  • youtube.com/recap on the web

The feature is rolling out in North America first, with a global release planned later this week. Mobile users will need YouTube app version 18.43 or above.

YouTube confirmed that Recaps are only available for adult accounts, and they will remain accessible until the end of the year. According to the company, the final design was chosen after 50+ prototype tests and several rounds of community feedback.

YouTube Also Reveals 2025 Trend Leaders

Alongside Recap’s launch, YouTube shared top performance data for the year:

  • Top Creator: MrBeast — for the 6th year in a row
  • Leading Podcast: The Joe Rogan Experience
  • Top Song: Die with a Smile by Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga
