Adobe Adds Gemini 3-Powered Nano Banana Pro to Photoshop & Firefly

Adobe has rolled out a major upgrade to its creative
ecosystem by bringing the Nano Banana Pro AI model—powered by Google’s
new Gemini 3—to both Photoshop and Firefly. The
announcement arrives just days after Google introduced the model, marking one
of Adobe’s fastest-ever AI integrations. The latest addition expands the
company’s growing catalogue of third-party AI tools available across its
creative apps. As a bonus, Adobe is offering unlimited AI image generation
for paid Creative Cloud Pro and Firefly plan users until December 1.
What the Integration Means for Creators
Adobe confirmed in a press announcement that Nano Banana Pro
is now live across Photoshop and Firefly. This development follows the recently
established partnership between Adobe and Google, designed to bring Google’s
advanced AI technology directly into Adobe’s creative suite.
Paid subscribers can experiment freely with unlimited AI
image outputs during the promotional window, making it an ideal time for
designers, artists, and editors to test what the new model can do.
Nano Banana Pro Inside Firefly
Within the Firefly app, users can now select Nano Banana Pro
when generating images using text prompts. The model is also supported inside Firefly
Boards, Adobe’s collaborative moodboarding environment where teams can
collect visuals, organise ideas, and build concept drafts together.
Firefly allows up to six reference images to be
uploaded at once, which the AI model merges and refines into a single creative
composition based on user prompts—a valuable tool for brand designers, concept
artists, and visual storytellers.
Enhanced Editing in Photoshop
Photoshop users will notice upgrades to the Generative
Fill feature, now backed by Google’s latest image model. The tool enables:
- Prompt-based
creative edits
- High-resolution
generations up to 4K
- Scene
adjustments such as lighting or style changes
- Fresh
variations of existing images
Nano Banana Pro is the third third-party model
integrated into Generative Fill, joining the earlier Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5)
and Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.1 Kontext [pro].
